Young Catholic Professionals (YCP) is a national ministry founded in response to Pope Benedict’s challenge to foster “a new generation of Catholics.” Our mission is to encourage young adults working in various professions to Work in Witness for Christ. YCP Orlando Chapter consists of young adults in their 20s and 30s, single and married, who are highly motivated to achieve personal and professional success while seeking a greater understanding of their Catholic faith. We also welcome professionals who may not be Catholic, but are interested in learning more about the Catholic faith.

Catholics in their 20s and 30s today represent business leaders, philanthropists, young families and so much more. The future of our Church and its role in American society rests on whether or not this generation decides to embrace the gift of their faith, living it in all its fullness in their workplaces, homes, and social networks. Central to YCP’s mission of engaging young Catholic leaders is the importance of connecting them with seasoned Catholic professionals who have already made the choice to live out their faith in all aspects of their life. YCP offers its members an avenue to engage with prominent Catholic executives in a way that is unique among young adult ministries. YCP brings young adults together for a variety of events to foster Catholic identity, encourage community and inspire action. Our events include: Networking Happy Hour, Executive Speaker Series, St. Joseph the Worker Retreats, Service Projects and a National Members Conference.

As an organization, we have a Membership program. Member benefits are exclusive programs that help develop the spiritual, professional, and social lives of our ministry’s most committed supporters. Members gain valuable access to YCP’s network of Members nationwide in addition to the benefits provided within their city. Please go to to learn more and register.

Hesburgh Lecture: Only the Strong Can Be Gentle

YCP Orlando is teaming up with the Notre Dame Club of Greater Orlando to host a Hesburgh Lecture with Rev Ronald J. Nuzzi, Ph.D., on Thursday, November 7th at 7:00pm at St Margaret Mary Catholic Church!

What is a Hesburgh Lecture you might ask?

The Hesburgh Lecture Series is hosted by Notre Dame clubs across the country to bring the Notre Dame campus to its alumni & friends by promoting intellectual dialogue with distinguished Notre Dame faculty.
The Notre Dame Club of Orlando and YCP Orlando invite you to join this one of a kind event! The evening will be similiar to our Executive Speaker Series, featuring free beer and wine, plenty of opportunities for networking and an after-party!

Our guest speaker, Fr Ron Nuzzi, will be speaking on the topic: Only the strong can be gentle: Toward Spirituality for Leadership.

The world of politics and business has certain expectations for leadership. The Catholic tradition, including the Scriptures, the life of Jesus, and the example of the saints, is instructive about a Catholic approach to leadership. Those with authority over others at work or at home can bless their life situations by developing a spirituality that is oriented to leadership.

    • 7:00pm: Networking with Free Beer and Wine
    • 7:30pm: Presentation with guest speaker Rev. Ronald Nuzzi, Ph.D.
    • 9:00pm: Afterparty

Father Ron Nuzzi was ordained in 1984, and has served as a parish priest, teacher, school administrator, university professor, and retreat leader, having taught and served in Catholic elementary, secondary, and tertiary institutions. He has developed leadership programs for aspiring Catholic school principals at the University of Dayton, Saint Louis University, and the University of Notre Dame.
His research interests and publications address the emerging needs of Catholic educators. Fr. Nuzzi has conducted two research tours at the Vatican’s Congregation for Catholic Education and served as a national delegate to the World Congress on Catholic Education in November 2015 at the Vatican, called by Pope Francis to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Vatican II’s Declaration on Christian Education, Gravissimum educationis. Nuzzi frequently helps to support the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), providing current research on the state of Catholic schools and serves as an educational consultant and researcher for a variety of dioceses and religious congregations. Fr. Nuzzi was named a Missionary of Mercy by Pope Francis in 2015, a ministry which he continues today.
Fr. Nuzzi has been a frequent presenter of professional development opportunities for Catholic educators in Canada, Ireland, and Australia. He retired from the University of Notre Dame in July 2017 after fifteen years of service. Fr. Nuzzi continues his advocacy in support of Catholic education as the current Executive Director of Equitable Access & Excellence at Catapult Learning.
