Tom Wilkes Bio:

After 4 years with the Navy as a flight instructor, Tom Wilkes attended law school at the University of Florida and practiced law from 1978-1990 with the GrayRobinson law firm. During that time, he served on two county-charter commissions for Orange County and was instrumental in creating Orange County's "county mayor" form of government in 1988.
In 1990, the first Orange County mayor, Linda Chapin, asked Tom to serve as the County Attorney, which is the top lawyer position at the county. Tom worked for Mayor Chapin and her two successors, Mayor (then Senator) Mel Martinez and Mayor Rich Crotty, a total of 12 years-so far, he was the longest serving county attorney in the county 's history.
After 12 years at the Orange County, Tom rejoined GrayRobinson, where he has practiced state and local government law for the past 17 years.
